WHAT IS DATOS IoT?

DO I NEED A DATOS IoT GATEWAY WITH SENSORS?
Yes. Our IoT sensors require a Datos IoT Edge Gateway to aggregate data and securely relay it to the cloud platform. If you already have compatible third-party gateways (BACnet, MQTT), please contact us for integration options.
WHAT IS THE COMMUNICATION RANGE OF DATOS IoT SENSORS?
Under ideal line-of-sight conditions, LoRaWAN sensors can reach up to 5 km. Real-world range varies with obstacles and building materials—our site survey will determine optimal sensor placement.
HOW MANY SENSORS CAN ONE GATEWAY SUPPORT?
A single Datos IoT Edge Gateway supports up to 200 devices for LoRaWAN and up to 100 over NB-IoT. This ensures reliable reporting with minimal packet loss.
DO I NEED CONSTANT INTERNET ACCESS?
While our gateways support 4G/LTE fail-over, we recommend a fixed internet connection for the lowest latency and highest data reliability.
WHAT ARE “LINKAGES” IN DATOS IoT?
Linkages let you automate field actions based on sensor events—for example, shut off a valve when a leak is detected or trigger HVAC cooldown if temperature exceeds a threshold. Custom linkage scenarios are available through your dealer.
